Central Library staff took a moment to pose with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews after Hardball Thursday, Sept. 4. Thursday was the last day of the Republican National Convention at the Xcel Center.

Library staff gathered outside Central library which is across the street from Rice Park where MSNBC is broadcasting live throughout the day. Staff have been busy welcoming guests and providing historic tours during the convention. It has been an exciting place to be!

We spotted these characters at the corner of 6th and Wabasha in downtown Saint Paul:

MSNBC is broadcasting from Rice Park across the street from Central Library, and while coverage of Hurricane Gustav has cut into some of the wall-to-wall coverage of the RNC, we’ve still got a front row seat to some national coverage.

During the convention, downtown is still open for business and the scene on the street is getting more interesting by the minute!
